How we make this site
Every price on this site is built from published data. Here's exactly how.
Where the prices come from
Every range on this site is built from published data, not from asking around. Our current sources are HomeGuide, NerdWallet, Angi, PlumbingSniper and manufacturer pricing, plus federal and state program pages for anything covering rebates or tax credits. Each cost page lists what it used at the bottom.
How we handle disagreement
Sources rarely match. When they don't we publish the span rather than a midpoint, and we say which source sits at each end. A range that looks wide is usually honest. A single confident number usually isn't.
Rebates and tax credits get re-checked quarterly
Program rules change and expire. Anything here that depends on a live government program carries the date we last confirmed it against the program's own page, not against a news article about it.
Dates mean something here
The "last checked" date on a page moves when someone actually re-checked the numbers on it. Not when a typo gets fixed, and never on a schedule to look fresh.
How the content is produced
These pages are researched and drafted with AI assistance, then checked against the source data by a person before they publish. We're telling you that because you'd want to know, and because a site that hides it isn't a site you should trust on anything else.
What we won't do
We don't take payment to change a price, a ranking or a recommendation. No sponsored content. No "best of" lists ordered by who pays us. Advertising and affiliate links are disclosed on the pages that carry them, and the money behind the site is described on our about page.
What we're not qualified to tell you
No licensed plumber has reviewed these pages. We report published pricing; we don't give technical or safety guidance, and where a page touches repair-versus-replace it's describing what the cost data says, not inspecting your unit. Confirm anything that affects safety with a licensed plumber.
Corrections
Email partners@gomavmedia.com. If you're right we fix it, date the change, and leave a note on the page saying what changed. Corrections stay visible.
